Looking for Candidates

With the November elections around the corner, the Suffield Democratic Town Committee is seeking people who are interested in serving in town government.

Any registered Democrat interested in running for Board of Selectman, Board of Finance, Board of Education, Planning and Zoning Commission, Fire Commission, Police Commission, or Water Pollution Control Authority in this year’s municipal elections should email a resume and cover letter to Democratic Town Committee Chairman Tom Frenaye at Frenaye@pcnet.com or call Tom at (860) 668-5444 prior to June 7, 2015. Interested candidates will be contacted by the DTC’s Nominating Committee for consideration for the fall slate with final decisions to be made at the July Democratic caucus.

Additionally, those interested in serving but not appearing on a ballot may submit cover letters and resumes at any time for consideration for nomination to appointed town boards or commissions. Suffield has many talented and dedicated residents, of all political parties, that volunteer to serve on boards and commissions. The majority of these positions are a-political and require only that you be a registered voter. No prior experience is necessary as long as you have a strong desire to serve our community. Cover letters should specify which commission the applicant is interested in serving on.
