Chris Rago wins, Paul Kulas honored!

At the recent Suffield Democratic Town Committee meeting on February 26, 2020, we celebrated Chris Rago’s runoff election victory to fill the open seat on the Water Pollution Control Authority board.   The November result as a tie vote but the runoff was decisive at 1080 – 627 votes.

Former First Selectman Paul Kulas (1989-91) was present to talk about his (and his father’s) long history of involvement in the DTC and town government.   Paul was recently voted an Honorary Member of the DTC.    Part of his discussion was the failed effort made 25+ years ago to establish a “ring road” from Bradley airport to the Route 190 bridge to Enfield.  He urged the DTC and town to concentrate on an effort to try again – because of the significant growth in passengers at Bradley airport and estimates it would grow considerably in future years.  The ring road is a way to get traffic to bypass downtown Suffield.
