Year in Review – 2025
In 2025 the Suffield Democratic Town Committee demonstrated that they could get Democrats elected in Suffield while working together in a way that aligns with our values and adheres to our Code of Conduct.
During the 2025 municipal election, we:
- Knocked on over 1,000 doors, connecting directly with voters across town
- Created new communication channels via text messaging, YouTube, and Reddit that have allowed us to reach new, younger audiences
- Hosted events such as a Veteran’s Breakfast, Music Bingo at a local restaurant, promoted a food drive for Suffield Community Aid, and participated in a town Cleanup Event with Sustainable Suffield all which built good will with the community and improved the image of Democrats in town.
- Raised over $12,000, a new record, to support our grassroots efforts
These efforts in turn bore fruit which resulted in Democrats:
- Taking control of the Fire Commission
- Splitting the Planning and Zoning Commission
- Gaining a seat on the Board of Education and
- Holding the Water Pollution Control Authority
Additionally, Democrats were the top vote getters for the Board of Selectmen, Board of Finance (Full Term), Board of Finance (Alternate), Board of Education (full term), Planning and Zoning Commission, Fire Commission and WPCA.
The Suffield DTC will continue to build on these capabilities and successes, and Suffield is next on the list of towns that flip from red to blue.
