William Boucher – Police Commission
Bill is a 26-year resident of Suffield and has been active in serving the community since moving here. He has been a volunteer coach for Suffield Little League; youth soccer and girls travel softball. He assists with the summer 5-5-5 Race series which raises money for charitable community organizations like Suffield Community Aid. Bill has been a volunteer at the Summer Fair, Christmas Tree Lighting, and Breakfast with Santa. Bill has been a member of the Suffield
Park & Rec Commission for over 10 years, currently serving as the Vice-Chairman, and a member of the Suffield Police Commission for two years.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bill has firsthand experience and knowledge of law enforcement and the operation of police departments having served a 35-year career as public safety professional, the last 27 as a Special Agent for the Department of Liquor Control for the State of Connecticut. He was a member of the Connecticut Police & Fire Union and served as its President for over 10 He was involved in contract negotiations, personnel issues, legislative initiatives, and community outreach. Bill was known and recognized for his integrity, honesty and hard work having received awards and citations for such during his career. Bill has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Systems and Policy from University of Hartford and a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of New Hampshire.
- Bill is committed to serving all the people of Suffield and has demonstrated this by his current roles on the Park & Recreation and Police Commissions, and his volunteer work in the town.
