To most everyone around, I am known as, “Kathy” Dunai. I have been the Town Clerk in Suffield for about 15 years. I am fortunate to call Suffield my home as three generations of my family had before me. Many of you know me from my involvements and volunteering in many of Suffield’s community events. This includes the Suffield Farmers Market, in the general agriculture community, with the emergency services, as well as many other activities. My roots run deep in this town, and I am extremely proud of that. Although words do not always paint the full picture of a person’s true approachable personality, my deep commitment is to our community and its residents alike.
I have been endorsed for a third term by the Democratic Town Committee as the candidate to seek re-election for my position as Town Clerk. Over the past 12 years, I have operated the Town Clerks Office. I previously served as an Assistant Town Clerk and later as Town Clerk in November 2015.
During my term as the Town Clerk in Suffield, I have attained my certification as a Certified Connecticut Town Clerk (CCTC). I also served on the organizational committee for the CCTC Spring Conference, the CCTC Freedom Of Information committee, implemented a new database with the ability to register dogs online, scanned all of the land records since the 1700’s to present the ability to search online and continue to streamline the Town Clerks Office to promote efficiency.
Living and growing up in Suffield has afforded me opportunities to be the person I am today. Collectively working for over 33 years both full and part time for The Town of Suffield has helped me grow a deeper appreciation of this community. The strong values set forth from my hard working parents has empowered me to embrace the ability to move forward with a solid work ethic and mindset for helping your “neighbor.”
I have commitment and demonstrated of the right leadership knowing our town, its residents and understand its needs. I ask that you vote for me in November so that I may continue my dedicated service to as your Town Clerk.
