Jim Irwin has lived in Suffield for almost two decades and has three generations of family in town. He is currently serving on the Kent Memorial Library Commission. Jim is focused on ensuring the freedom to read and defending the first amendment rights of all the people of Suffield. He is also a long-time Board member of the Friends of KML and actively participates in their annual book sale. He served for two years on the Town Advisory Commission on Capital Expenditures (ACCE) and was elected as its secretary in 2023. He has consulted with the town Department of Public Works on numerous library projects, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, and annually gives back to the community through his work at the Suffield Community Aid vegetable garden.
